This past weekend was Lil John's Mountain Music Festival aka Bass Mountain. They had a great line-up all three days & we really enjoyed listening to the sounds of fiddles and banjos carrying our worries away. Thursday, I was out there with no Kevin & no kids. However, I have a huge family over there, so I was not lonely at all. Something that made me really happy was that all of the family was able to be there like old times!: Maw Maw & Paw Paw Ridge, Aunt Donna & Uncle Robert, Uncle Freddie & Dustin, Daddy, Momma, & Will. It's been quite a while since we have all been there at one time like that!

Friday morning I got a call from Kevin saying that he was taking Caden to the Doctor, that he had hurt his knee Thursday while he & Kendall were playing. He was at the bottom of the slide and Kendall went down and landed on him, bending his knee in an odd position. Kevin told me not to leave the festival but I couldn't stay there worrying about my little fellow! We took him to Urgent Care first, but they didn't have an xray & then they sent us to UNC Orthopedic Acute Care. Luckily they were able to see Caden right away. He took the x-ray like a big boy. When the Doctor asked Caden his name, he responded "Me." That had us all going! We are very grateful that he only had a minor sprain & there was no break or fracture. They put an ACE bandage on his knee & told him he could still run and jump as much as he wanted! We took Caden to Pizza Hut after that to reward him for being so good!
After my Mom came to keep Caden & pick up Kendall from school, Kevin & I headed back out to the Mountain.
What made me happy was to see my Daddy there & having a great time with friends & family.

On Saturday, Al Batten & the Bluegrass Reunion played! Kendall was so excited to finally get to be singing on the stage at Bass Mountain! The 1st set she got to sing "Rockin on the Waves" & the 2nd set she got to sing "Black Eyed Suzie", her two favorites. A WRAL representative was there taking pictures & interviewed Daddy & Kendall after their first set. You can find their pictures on the WRAL website! Just look for Lil John's Mountain Music Festival.
